Covenant GateInstall it on your machine.
Covenant Gate is a Windows installer. It runs entirely on your own computer: decisions, records and evidence never leave it. Downloads are available to every active plan from your account.
Choose a plan
Pick the licence that covers the number of machines you need. Checkout is handled by Stripe.
Download the installer and licence
In My account, choose Download installer and Download licence file. The installer's SHA-256 fingerprint is shown next to the button.
Run the installer
It installs for your Windows account (no administrator prompt), adds the cg command and a Start menu entry, and can take your licence file in the same step. Until the installer is code-signed, Windows SmartScreen may ask you to confirm: check the fingerprint first, then choose More info and Run anyway.
Protect a repository
Open a terminal in the repository you want governed and run setup. It copies the gate into the project, installs the git hooks and the Claude Code hook, then asks the gate five sample questions to prove it works.
Commit it, as an administrator
The gate's own files are protected, so adding them is a privileged change: it needs the administrator role and a written justification that points to a real document. Every later ordinary commit goes through without either. Then mark the covenant-gate / gate check as required on GitHub.
What you need.
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
- PowerShell 7 (free from Microsoft; the installer tells you if it is missing).
- Git, for the commit and push gates.
- Optional: Claude Code or Claude Desktop, to govern AI assistants.
Nothing phones home.
The engine makes no network calls to us. Your account on this site is only for buying a plan and downloading the software and licence file.
